BLACK LIVES MATTER.

USC MOVE firmly stands in solidarity with the Black community both at USC and around the world in fighting against a system that perpetuates racism, police brutality, and violence. We are infuriated by the brutal and unnecessary deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many others who have been victims to such institutionalized racism.

Black Lives Matter. This position is neither political nor controversial. This is a statement of fact.

USC MOVE is an organization committed to celebrating diversity and promoting equality. Our vision is to become the driving force in the creation of a socially conscious, impact-driven student body at USC. Therefore, it is our responsibility to play an active role in breaking down this legacy of racism, oppression, and brutality to empower the narrative of our Black community.

We recognize the systemic injustices brought against Black people by judicial, martial, educational, residential, medical, and too many other forces at work in the US, and we will work together to keep pushing forward; this is not over yet. We believe it is not only our responsibility, but our privilege to be able to educate ourselves about the racism and discrimination inherent in the American institution. There are many incredible individuals fighting for change in our nation, and we are proud to stand alongside them. USC MOVE encourages everyone in our community to use the resources that we have compiled to learn about, fight for, and support your fellow human beings.

In solidarity, now and always,

USC MOVE 2023-2024 Executive Board
